Job summary

UL Company in Milano seeks a Project Engineer (m/f/i) for Wiring Devices to manage certification projects with an international team. You will coordinate testing programs, liaise with clients on UL requirements and ensure timely, high-quality conformity data.

The role involves traveling to client sites, developing test documentation, and supervising laboratory technicians. A university degree in engineering or physics and four years' related experience are required.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering, engineering technology, industrial technology, manufacturing technology or physics.
• Four years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage certification projects for wiring devices (connectors, terminal blocks, cable trays, cable glands, plugs and sockets).
• Define project scope, cost, schedule, sample requirements and technical documentation from client input and product data.
• Prepare datasheets and instructions; schedule and review work of Laboratory Technicians; establish completion dates.
• Communicate with clients on technical issues and UL procedures and requirements.
• Travel to client sites to conduct or witness tests as needed.
• Provide technical assistance to clients on product evaluations, inspections, plans review and follow-up services.
• Establish test programs by reviewing files, manufacturer information, samples, and UL requirements.
• Develop test requirements for innovative products beyond existing standards.
• Identify areas of non-compliance with applicable standards and address them.
• Plan, conduct, and supervise major code and regulatory projects of significant scope.
