Descrizione del lavoro

The HR Generalist is the primary HR presence for the Italian entity, owning the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding through employee relations, compliance, and offboarding. This is a hands‑on, standalone role: you will be the go‑to person for managers and employees on all HR matters in Italy.

This position reports and works in close partnership with the Regional HR Manager EMEA to ensure alignment with group‑wide policies, tools, and reporting standards. The HR Generalist collaborates with managers, supervisors, and employees in the Italian organization.

Key Functions (Other duties might be assigned)
  1. Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage end‑to‑end hiring for corporate and field/operations roles (seasonal and permanent), including sourcing, interviewing, offer preparation, and new‑hire onboarding.
  2. Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns; support managers with performance issues, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution in line with Italian labor law.
  3. Compliance & Labor Law: Ensure full compliance with Italian employment legislation and the applicable national collective bargaining agreement (CCNL) for the agricultural sector, including contracts, working time, leave, and termination processes.
  4. Payroll & Benefits Coordination: Liaise with the external payroll provider (consulente del lavoro) and Finance to ensure accurate and timely payroll input; administer local benefits and welfare programs.
  5. Performance & Talent Management: Coordinate the local rollout of the group's performance review cycle, goal‑setting, and development planning; support succession and talent conversations with site leadership.
  6. HR Policies & Documentation: Maintain and localize HR policies, employee handbooks, and contract templates in line with Italian requirements and group guidelines.
  7. HRIS & Reporting: Keep employee data accurate and up to date in the group HRIS; produce regular headcount, turnover, and other people‑metrics reports for the Regional HR Director.
  8. Health & Safety Support: Partner with site management and the RSPP/external consultants on HR‑related aspects of workplace health and safety obligations (D.Lgs. 81/2008).
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Training
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Law, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a generalist HR role in Italy, ideally within a small‑to‑mid‑sized company or a subsidiary of an international group; experience in agriculture, agribusiness, food production, or another operations‑heavy sector is a plus.
  • Labor law knowledge: Solid working knowledge of Italian labor law and hands‑on experience applying a CCNL (agriculture sector experience strongly preferred).
  • Languages: Fluent Italian (native or near‑native) and professional working proficiency in English.
  • Ways of working: Autonomous, hands‑on, and comfortable being the sole HR presence on site; strong organizational skills and discretion in handling confidential information; ability to build trust with employees and managers at all levels and to prioritize work, follow through on a variety of requests and meet required deadlines; strong attention to detail is required.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel occasionally to the EMEA regional office in Spain.
  • Systems: Highly proficient using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with seasonal/agricultural workforce planning.
  • Exposure to recruitment for both office‑based and field/operational roles.
