Job summary

ABB E-mobility is seeking a Growth Markets Field Service Engineer to provide hands-on expertise, traveling globally to commission, maintain, and repair EV charging equipment with partners. You will audit field activities, train partners, and ensure safe operation at customer sites.

You will diagnose faults, communicate clearly with customers, and identify upgrades or spare parts needs, while coordinating with internal teams for knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or professional training plus at least 3 years of field service experience.
• Experience with EV charging equipment is required.
• Ability to travel globally ~70–80% and Work remotely with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Commission, configure, maintain and repair EV charging equipment with partners.

• Represent ABB E-mobility at customer sites with professional communication and follow-up.

• Train service partners in Growth Markets and support certification readiness.

We are looking for a Growth Markets Field Service Engineer to provide hands‑on technical expertise and strengthen partner service capability across our global EV charging network.

In this role, you will travel extensively (approximately 70–80% globally), working on‑site with customers and service partners to commission, maintain and restore charging equipment and build service quality in Growth Markets.

What you will do:

• Commission, configure, maintain and repair EV charging equipment alongside service partners, helping ensure installations are ready for safe and reliable operation.
• Diagnose electrical, electronic and mechanical faults on‑site, identifying practical corrective actions and restoring charger performance.
• Represent ABB E-mobility at customer sites, building trust through professional communication, responsive service and clear follow‑up.
• Identify customer requirements for equipment upgrades, preventative maintenance and spare parts, sharing recommendations with the relevant teams.
• Audit partners’ on‑site service activities, assessing adherence to applicable procedures and identifying opportunities to strengthen field execution.
• Train and assess service partners in Growth Markets alongside the training team, supporting their readiness for certification and consistent service delivery.
• Document service activities and exchange technical findings with remote support and internal teams, enabling effective case follow‑up and knowledge sharing.
• Support Formula E activities with on‑site service expertise, coordinating technical needs with the relevant event and service teams.

What you will bring:

• Technical degree or professional training, plus at least 3 years of field service experience.
• Experience with EV charging equipment (required).
• Electrical, electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience training others and communicating technical information clearly.
• Ability to work independently with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach.
• Willingness and ability to travel globally approximately 70–80% of the time.
• Full driving license.
