SSC Space seeks an experienced Ground Segment Engineer to lead the design, development and programmatic framework for space systems. You will justify the S/S architecture from concept to detailed design and manage technical interfaces and budgets.

The role requires MBSE with SysML/UML, DOORS-based requirements management, and strong English communication skills. Occasional international teamwork and travel may be required.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or comparable degree.
• At least ten years in Ground Segment engineering for space systems (Phase C/D).
• At least five years in definition and design of spacecraft/subsystems for EO systems.
• Strong competence in EO space design and development.
• Experience with DOORS for requirements management.
• Experience with STK, Python and MATLAB for system analyses.
• MBSE with SysML/UML for design and traceability.
• Knowledge of ground system engineering processes and life cycles.
• Familiarity with ECSS standards.
• Excellent analytical and conceptual abilities.
• Creative problem solving and strong project teamwork.
• Flexible, international mindset and ability to meet tight schedules.
• Highly motivated with proactive work style and responsibility.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
• Fluent English; Italian skills desirable.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or comparable degree
• Professional experience of at least ten years in Ground Segment (G/S) engineering projects for space systems, in Phase C/D as mandatory
• Professional experience of at least five years in definition and design of S/S for EO systems for institutional and/or commercial customers
• Strong competences in design and development of EO space
• Experience in the definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of DOORS
• Use of simulation and computing tools for the definition of G/S performances, e.g. STK, Python, MATLAB
• Proven capability to define G/S design throughout the support of model-based methods, techniques and tools (e.g. SysML, UML)
• Sound knowledge of ground system engineering processes, and ground system and software life cycles
• Sound knowledge of relevant ECSS standards
• Excellent conceptual and analytical skills
• Ability to devise creative solutions and think out of the box
• Proven heritage and attitude for problem solving and project team management
• High level of flexibility, willingness to work in international teams and ability to keep tight schedules
• High motivation, proactive working approach and strong sense of responsibility
• Excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills
• Fluency in both spoken and written (Business) English, Italian skills are desirable
