Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Supplier Development Engineer to lead supplier qualification, audits, and development initiatives for a robust transforming supply base. You will drive compliance, tests, and continuous improvement across the global supplier network to ensure high quality and cost-efficiency.

The role requires 8+ years in QA and supplier development, with experience in metal fabrication/transformer components, ISO standards, and international travel.

Competenze

• Degree in Engineering, SCM or related field.
• 8+ years in QA and supplier development in metal fabrication, welding, machining or transformer components.
• Knowledge of heat treatment and surface protection processes (e.g., hot-dip galvanization, powder and wet paint, E-coating).
• Familiarity with ISO-9001, IATF16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards; external auditor certification a plus.
• Welding/IWE/IWI or NDT certifications are a strong advantage.
• Understanding of ISO 3834, EN 1090, welding standards and ISO 5817/23277 for QA.
• Experience with APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, Process Control Plan and inspection test plan creation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; data-driven decision making.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organization and cross-functional communication.
• Willingness to travel internationally for supplier assessments/audits.

• Lead supplier qualification via SAP Ariba assessments and global on-site audits for compliance and capability.
• Implement improvement actions at suppliers based on audits and process improvements.
• Oversee global parts approval to ensure materials meet requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance indicators and run annual Supplier Performance Evaluations.
• Develop action plans for supplier performance recovery with suppliers.
• Lead root cause analysis to resolve escalated non-conformities with suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement in supplier management processes at a global level.
• Support SCM sustainability initiatives aligning with material and supplier goals.
