Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Supplier Development Engineer for the Transformers unit to lead supplier assessments, drive continuous improvement, and ensure high-quality, cost-effective materials across the global supply base.

You will oversee audits, parts approvals, and supplier performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to elevate supplier partnerships and support operational excellence.

Competenze

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality assurance and supplier development in metal fabrication, welding, machining, transformer components or similar.
• Knowledge of heat treatment and surface protection processes (galvanization, painting, E-coating).
• Familiarity with ISO standards and external auditor certification is a plus.
• Welding/painting certification (IWE/IWI, FROSIO, ISO 9712) is a strong advantage.
• Experience with APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, Process Control Plan and inspection test plans.

• Lead supplier qualification via SAP Ariba assessments and global on-site audits.
• Implement improvement actions at suppliers based on audit findings and process improvements.
• Oversee global parts approval to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive annual Supplier Performance Evaluation.
• Develop action plans for supplier performance recovery with corrective actions.
• Lead root cause analysis to resolve escalated non-conformities with suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement in supplier management processes at a global level.
• Support sustainability initiatives aligning with material and supplier goals.
