Job summary

Emerson in Lugagnano Val d'Arda, Italy seeks a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to lead a global team responsible for isolation valve product lines, including engineered-to-order and new product development.

You will collaborate across engineering, operations, quality, and commercial teams to deliver innovative, reliable solutions while driving design excellence, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading mechanical design teams and lifecycle management in industrial manufacturing.
• Experience in global, cross-functional, matrix organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a global team of design engineers and technical leaders.
• Drive design, development, qualification, and continuous improvement of isolation valve products.
• Establish engineering standards, templates, and documentation per industry requirements.
• Oversee activities from concept to detailed design and sustaining support.
• Support customer projects, NPD initiatives, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Sales, and Product Management.
• Guide analyses, calculations, simulations, and design reviews.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Support audits, testing programs, and regulatory compliance.
• Foster innovation and knowledge sharing across the engineering org.
• Monitor team performance and milestones to ensure business outcomes.
• Coach and develop talent to maintain a high-performing culture.
