Job summary

catworkx Italy is seeking an experienced Enterprise Platform Architect to drive a major AI architecture initiative for a leading client in the Swiss transport and infrastructure sector. The role focuses on shaping a pragmatic, phased architecture vision, defining AI capabilities, and setting up governance for shared services.

You will define architecture workstreams, develop decision papers, and translate requirements into actionable platforms.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of IT architecture experience with AI / GenAI in large organisations.
• At least two references as responsible for an overarching target architecture with stages and roadmap (ideally AI or data platforms).
• Solid understanding of LLMs, RAG, agentic systems and related risks (prompt injection, data leakage, hallucinations).
• Experience with Security by Design, IAM (including non-human identities/agents), data classification and Zero Trust.
• Knowledge of EU AI Act, data protection and information security requirements.
• Experience with capability-based architecture and decisions between central, domain-specific and local models.
• Experience in building AI Governance (roles, processes, approvals, risk classification).
• Ability to link architecture with economic aspects (business case, FinOps, TCO).
• Business fluent German and good English.

Responsibilities

• Develop a pragmatic, staged and implementation-oriented architecture vision.
• Define scope, structure AI capabilities and prioritise the most important architecture questions.
• Define architecture workstreams and the deployment of Platform Architects.
• Develop architecture concepts, principles, target pictures and decision papers.
• Translate the overarching architecture into organisational and technical requirements for platforms and shared services.
• Define governance, responsibilities and operating model for shared services.
• Support the creation of an implementable architecture roadmap.
• Document and communicate the architecture to management and technical teams.
