Bain & Company in Milan is offering an AI Engineering Intern role focused on building GenAI applications and agentic solutions for clients. You will work with experienced engineers, consultants, and data scientists through real project work, with mentorship and increasing responsibility over time.

The internship emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with Bain’s AI ecosystem partners, and exposure to end-to-end ML solutions from data prep to model deployment.

Competenze

• 0–2+ years of professional AI/ML engineering experience or equivalent through internships, research, or open-source work.
• Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in CS, ML, AI, Data Science, or related field.
• Strong academic performance or demonstrated excellence through projects, internships, or contributions.
• Proficiency in Python and experience building APIs or services (REST/gRPC).
• Experience building complex, multi-stack generative AI programs.

Mansioni

• Contribute to the design and development of GenAI applications (e.g., copilots, workflow automation, decision support).
• Support AI pipelines and components (RAG, fine-tuning, embeddings, hybrid retrieval).
• Assist in implementing tool use, function calling, and orchestration across AI workflows.
• Collaborate on building agent capabilities including context management, memory/state handling.
• Contribute to evaluation, testing, and production deployment tasks with senior team members.
• Write clean, testable code and contribute to APIs and services through the full SDLC.
