AVL Italia S.p.A. is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to develop, implement and verify safety concepts for safety-related projects in Italy.

The role involves risk assessments and safety analyses, with close collaboration across system, software, and hardware teams to verify safety functionalities and support R&D activities. The candidate should have a technical university degree, driver’s license, and several years of experience in safety-related development, with knowledge of AVL safety

Competenze

• Bachelor-level or higher technical university degree required.
• Driver's license essential.
• Certified Safety Engineer preferred.
• HV Basis Training required.
• Several years' experience in safety-related projects.

Mansioni

• Develop, implement and verify safety concepts in safety-related projects.
• Perform risk assessments and safety analyses.
• Work with system, software and hardware teams to verify safety functionalities.
• Carry out development of item definitions, HARAs, safety concepts, safety analyses and test specifications.
• Execute safety tests and safety R&D tasks.
• Identify deviations and report them proactively.

Functional Safety Engineer

TheFunctional Safety Engineer must develop, implement, and verify safety concepts in safety-related projects. This job involves executing risk assessments and safety analyses and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The engineer will work closely with system, software, and hardware teams to verify safety functionalities and support R&D activities.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Functional Safety Engineer must carry out the guided tasks independently

• Development of item definitions
• Development of HARAs
• Development of safety concepts
• Development of safety analysis
• Development of test specifications
• Execution of safety tests
• Execution of safety R&D tasks
• Identify and report project deviations proactively
• Contribute to lessons learnt
• Technical support of offers

YOUR PROFILE:

• Completed education in technical university or equivalent with a focus on mechatronic, physics, software, electronics, or a related field.
• Driver's License
• Certified Safety Engineer
• HV Basis Training
• Several years of proven experience in the development of safety-related projects from prototype to SoP.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic development
• In-depth knowledge of system engineering
• In-depth knowledge of safety standards
• In-depth knowledge of AVL safety development processes which includes the execution of all technical safety activities in the V-Model
• Sound knowledge of the basics of software engineering
• Sound knowledge of the basics of mechanical engineering
• English language skills (very good)
• Ability to identify and evaluate problems and present solutions to the customer
• Willingness to travel
