The Human Technopole Foundation (HT) is an interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, whose aim is to develop innovative strategies to promote human health and healthy aging through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational biology, structural biology, neuroscience and health data science. HT scientists work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment to help promote life science research nationally and internationally. In line with its mission to serve the research community at large, HT operates National Facilities, specifically aimed at making HT’s technologies, methods and tools available to the national scientific community.

The Human Technopole Foundation is looking for a Full Stack Web Developer to work within the Data Centre Facility.

Under the supervision of the Scientific Computing Support Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web and desktop applications, ensuring the seamless integration of front-end and back-end functionalities. This role focuses on enhancing the organization's existing systems, optimizing performance, and delivering scalable solutions to meet evolving business needs, with a priority on development tasks and technical support requests originating from the scientific areas, including HT Research and National Facilities (NF).

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain web and desktop applications to support business operations;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance;
  • Conduct regular updates and upgrades to align with the latest technologies and security standards;
  • Develop and refine responsive user interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js);
  • Implement server-side functionality using Node.js, Python, or other relevant technologies;
  • Ensure seamless communication between the client-side and server-side through well-structured APIs;
  • Maintain and optimize databases (SQL, NoSQL, Grapgh DDBB) to handle growing data needs;
  • Monitor database performance and implement strategies for scalability and reliability;
  • Work closely with project stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions;
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and ICT teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals;
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's overall technical growth;
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency in development workflows;
  • Optimize application performance through effective coding practices and infrastructure tuning.

Requirements

Mandatory requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
  • 3-5 Years of professional experience in full-stack development;
  • Strong back-end development experience with technologies like Node.js, Python, Ruby, or PHP;
  • Hands-on experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and API development;
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps practices;
  • Knowledge of version control systems for code management and collaboration like Git;
  • Familiarity with containerized systems like Docker and Kubernetes for orchestration;
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Preferred requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field;
  • Previous experience with similar role in another Research Institute;

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.

Contract offered: CCNL Chimico Farmaceutico, permanent- employee level.

Salary range: € 45 to € 55k depending on candidate’s seniority.
