FAO in Rome, Italy seeks an Information Technology Developer (non-staff) to join an agile software development team. The role focuses on web/mobile applications, data pipelines, and AI model implementations to support FAO missions.

Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring scalable solutions, and presenting data visually with dashboards. The position is a non-staff PSA with duration up to 11 months and base location in Rome.

Competenze

• Advanced university degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or related fields.
• At least one year of relevant professional experience in information technology, data engineering, software engineering or related disciplines.
• Working knowledge of English (C1); knowledge of Spanish, French, Arabic, Chinese or Russian desirable.

Mansioni

• Develop web/mobile applications using front-end frameworks.
• Collaborate with backend developers and designers to ensure applications work across devices.
• Design, build, and maintain data collection, storage, and processing infrastructure.
• Prepare data for analytical and machine learning purposes.
• Design, develop and implement AI models and algorithms.

Formazione

IAU/UNESCO-recognized degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or related field
