Musixmatch is seeking a Frontend Intern to join our AI team in Bologna for a 6‑month extracurricular internship with a monthly reimbursement of €800. You will prototype, design and deploy production‑ready frontend and native mobile interfaces, while developing foundational backend skills through APIs, cloud services, and real production systems.

Position

We are looking for a Frontend Intern to join our AI team. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands‑on experience building modern, responsive web and mobile applications using full‑stack development accelerated by AI‑assisted tooling. You'll rapidly prototype, design, and deploy production‑ready frontend and native mobile interfaces, while also developing foundational backend skills by working directly with APIs, cloud services, and real production systems, bridging the gap between visual development and backend infrastructure.

This is an extracurricular internship (tirocinio extracurriculare) lasting 6 months, with a monthly reimbursement of €800.

Responsibilities

• Design and build responsive web interfaces and native mobile applications using modern full-stack approaches accelerated by AI
• Build reusable component libraries and iterate on the design system across web and mobile
• Develop interactive dashboards with real‑time data visualization
• Integrate frontend and mobile apps with REST APIs and third‑party services, with hands‑on exposure to building and maintaining those APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Customize components using custom CSS, JavaScript, and platform‑specific configurations when needed
• Work with PostgreSQL and Redis for data storage, caching, and session management as needed
• Leverage AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate development, generate responsive layouts, and build component logic
• Collaborate with designers, backend teams, and domain experts to translate designs into functional applications
• Conduct user testing across devices, iterate based on feedback, and document workflows

Requirements

• Basic understanding of web development concepts and APIs
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code)
• Some knowledge of or genuine interest in Machine Learning approaches and techniques
• Basic knowledge of Python and databases (SQL or NoSQL) is a plus
• Ability to maintain clear and up‑to‑date technical documentation
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Problem‑solving mindset and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in English
