ZEISS is seeking a Global Frame Shape Database Manager and VTO Scan Lab Supervisor to lead frame data quality and the Italian Scan Lab operations. You will ensure metadata accuracy, coordinate cross-functional activities, and support data integration with multiple ZEISS platforms.

The role requires deep optical knowledge, software and agile practice, plus fluent English. Hybrid/onsite work with travel between sites may be required.

• Diploma of optical production with optician qualification.

• Proficiency in software development and agile/sprint methodologies.

We’re looking for a Global Frame Shape Database Manager and VTO Scan Lab Supervisor to join VIS-NDOF in our Frame Platform and VTO ecosystem.

Your Role The role combines two critical pillars:

• Global Frame Shape Database Manager
• VTO Scan Lab Supervisor

Purpose: To ensure high-quality frame shape metadata and scans are captured, stored, and made available to Visustore, Visufit, VTO, VTO(at)Home, Frame Platform, ECP Online, and related applications; to lead the Frame Platform Scan Lab operations in Italy with excellence and reliability.

Global Frame Shape Database Manager

• Quality control and entering frame shape meta data consumed by multiple platforms
• Creating traces of frame requests for cut edge and fit and uploading them to the GFDB
• Maintaining correctness of all data within the GFDB (23k+ frames)
• Acting as the technical stakeholder for FrameManagementTool (FMT) and providing final GoLive approvals
• Supporting CE&F project \"GFDB\" by connecting stakeholders and advising on technical questions
• Connecting “online” data with GFDB, guiding data handling between FMT and Online
• Guiding BI dashboards on what to display and which data matters from business and data perspectives

VTO Scan Lab Supervisor

• Coordinating the Frame Platform Scan Lab in Italy with two operators (plus one backup)
• Prioritizing tasks and solving process-related issues
• Controlling and correcting meta data to ensure accuracy of stored data (Meta-trace and 3D data)
• Improving the scan process for speed, data handling, and reducing partner involvement

• Frames on the platform (KPI)
• Number of frames scanned by Visuscan

Your Experience Education

• Diploma of optical industrial expert with qualification as optician
• Deep knowledge of production and properties of lenses, frames, full spectacles (materials, behavior, tolerances)
• Proficiency in software development and agile/sprint methodologies
• Handling, creating, and tracing frame data; validating correctness and plausibility
• Advanced understanding of materials, fitting, and behavior under different conditions
• Knowledge of optician workflow, ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses, and low-vision products
• Insight into lens production and technical requirements
• Writing software requirements with prioritization for features
• Software testing and experience with agile scrum teams
• Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Fluent English (read, write, speak)

Additional knowledge

• Understanding of glasses and full spectacles production

Duties and Responsibilities

Global Frame Shape Database Manager

• Be the contact for technical questions about the global database content
• Enter and maintain frame data
• Propose improvements to the GFDB and FMT to the Product Owner
• Ensure the FMT version includes all needed functionality; lead testing and sign-off for new features; conduct UATs

VTO Scan Lab Supervisor

• Coordinate the VT Scan Lab in Italy with two operators
• Serve as the interface between VTO Aalen and VT Scan Lab Italy
• Ensure trace quality of frame shapes, 3D pictures, and all metadata conform to GFDB
• Propose workflow improvements for speed and precision
