EssilorLuxottica in Agordo, Italy, is seeking an Industrial Vision Engineer to develop in‑house vision applications for the industrial inspection of eyewear components like frames and lenses. You will work with multidisciplinary teams worldwide to ensure excellence in deliverables and continuously improve inspection systems.

You will contribute to hardware and software design, define visual inspection specifications, and oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of vision systems, while

• Industrial inspection background with defect detection, geometric inspection, or presence/absence checks.
• Experience designing and prototyping vision systems hardware and software.
• Proficiency in programming and software design for vision systems with Git-based workflows.
• Knowledge of optics and lighting applied to industrial vision systems.
• Familiarity with Ethernet-IP, OPC, CIP protocols in industrial environments.
• Able to adapt in a changing environment and manage time effectively.

Your role

We are looking for an Industrial Vision Engineer to join the Industrial Inspection Italy R&D team in Agordo. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to develop in‑house vision applications for the industrial inspection of the main components of eyewear products: frames and lenses.

The candidate will work in a project‑based environment alongside multidisciplinary technical teams covering all domains of industrial machinery. There will be continuous collaboration with R&D and engineering teams located around the world (Belgium and France in particular) to ensure global excellence in our deliverables.

Main responsibilities:

• Developing application for industrial inspection of frames and lenses
• Vision system design and prototyping, including hardware and optical setup definition (optics, lighting systems, and cameras)
• Developing and maintaining full‑stack software tools for vision‑based inspection applications
• Definition of requirements and technical specifications related to human–machine interface (HMI) programming
• Installation, testing, and commissioning of vision systems
• Management of software development suppliers for industrial automation projects
• Building, together with your teammates, the future of industrial inspection in the eyewear industry
• Technical support

Main requirements:

• Industrial inspection background, in particular in defect detection, geometric inspection, presence/absence of components, optical power inspection
• Color inspection experience is a plus
• You love challenges and you take your responsibility seriously
• Experience in programming and software design for vision systems, with a git‑based development workflow
• Experience in optics and lighting, applied to industrial vision systems
• Good knowledge of industrial communication protocols (mainly Ethernet‑IP, OPC, CIP protocol)
• You are a flexible person, able to adapt in a contest of constant change
• You can proactively organize your time and activities to get things done
• You do not see problems, you just see solutions
