CEVA AIR&OCEAN ITALY S.P.A. in Rome is seeking a Forwarding Management Senior Specialist to lead ocean freight forwarding activities across Italy, with a focus on Fiumicino operations.

You will coordinate logistics solutions, ensure timely shipments, and drive improvements in efficiency, cost control, and service quality within the Ocean Customer Service unit.

• Proven experience in ocean freight forwarding in a senior or specialist capacity.
• Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and logistics coordination.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills for handling multiple shipments.
• Fluency in Italian and good command of English, both written and spoken.

About the Role

CEVA AIR&OCEAN ITALY S.P.A. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Forwarding Management Senior Specialist to join our Ocean division in the vibrant city of Rome, located specifically at A&O Via A. G. Eiffel. This pivotal role is situated within our Ocean Customer Service unit and focuses on delivering excellence in forwarding management across Italy, with particular emphasis on operations related to Fiumicino.

Job Summary

As a Forwarding Management Senior Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing ocean freight forwarding activities. You will be responsible for coordinating logistics solutions that meet customer requirements efficiently, ensuring timely shipment execution while upholding CEVA's standards of quality and compliance. This position demands a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise and the capacity to manage complex forwarding challenges in the Italian market.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end ocean freight forwarding processes to ensure seamless transportation and delivery services.
• Act as a primary liaison between customers, carriers, internal teams, and external partners to facilitate information flow and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Oversee shipment planning, documentation, scheduling, and compliance with relevant customs and maritime regulations.
• Collaborate with sales and operations departments to align logistics solutions with customer needs and company objectives.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to stakeholders, proactively addressing potential delays or disruptions.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels within forwarding activities.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and security standards within all forwarding operations.
• Support training and mentoring initiatives for junior team members within the Ocean Customer Service unit.
• Maintain accurate records of forwarding transactions, contracts, and performance metrics to support reporting and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in ocean freight forwarding, preferably within a senior or specialist capacity.
• Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and logistics coordination.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, capable of managing multiple complex shipments simultaneously.
• Proficiency in relevant logistics software and IT systems typically used in ocean freight management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities.
• Fluency in Italian and good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Relevant vocational or academic qualifications in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field are advantageous.
