Job summary

Sorelle in Lazio, Italy is seeking an enthusiastic Host to warmly welcome guests and guide them to seating, ensuring a positive start to every dining experience. You will manage reservations, seating arrangements, and the waitlist while coordinating with the serving team for seamless service.

Strong organizational and customer service skills are essential to maintain the restaurant's standards of excellence and create memorable visits for all guests.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Knowledge of all menu items, prices and general service procedures.
• Must possess basic computational ability.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must be familiar with OpenTable or similar reservation system.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and ensure guests receive responsive, professional, and gracious service.
• Answer questions about the menu, items, the wine list, or other inquiries from guests.
• Liaise with server to communicate guests' wants and needs.
• Escort guests to their table and assist them into their seats.
• Answer the phone and take reservations.
• Communicate reservation flow with the back of house.
• Maintain cleanliness of restaurant entrance.
• Check coats and maintain the coat check area.
• Maintain printing and cleanliness of all menus.
• Post daily floorplans and sidework duties.
• Stock supplies such as matches, business cards, toothpicks.
• Maintain a clean, safe dining room and service stations.
• Comply with health, safety, and labor regulations.
