Job summary

Danfoss is seeking an experienced Field Systems Engineer to support OEM customers across Europe from Mestre (Italy) or other European hubs. You will deliver world-class technical and application support for Danfoss Turbocor® compressors within the Cooling division, working with Account Managers and regional teams.

Travel regularly across Europe is required (approximately 25% of time), engaging in technical analysis and problem solving to ensure customer success and new product launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Thermodynamics or related field is an advantage.
• 5+ years of experience in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration industry with expertise in refrigeration systems using Danfoss Turbocor centrifugal compressors.
• Strong hands-on and theoretical knowledge of chillers, refrigeration systems and compressor applications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; fluent English; Italian/German/French advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application support to OEM customers and sales teams across Europe.
• Act as main technical contact for product application, troubleshooting and quality topics.
• Analyze compressor and refrigeration issues; conduct failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Share field insights to improve products and support new development and launches.
• Plan and conduct customer visits, training, demos; support customer satisfaction and growth.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality and other teams to address challenges.

Danfoss is seeking an experienced Field Systems Engineer, based at one of its locations in Mestre, Italy; Trévoux, France; Uxbridge, United Kingdom or Offenbach, Germany. The successful candidate will provide world‑class technical and application support for Danfoss Turbocor® compressors within the Cooling division. Working closely with Account Managers and Regional Sales Managers, the Field Systems Engineer will deliver high‑quality technical support to OEM customers across Europe.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide technical and application support to OEM customers and sales teams across Europe, supporting both existing business and new opportunities.
• Act as the main technical point of contact for customers on product application, troubleshooting and quality‑related topics.
• Analyze compressor and refrigeration system issues, conduct failure analysis and drive structured problem‑solving and corrective actions.
• Represent the voice of the customer internally, sharing field insights to improve existing products and support new product development and launches.
• Plan and conduct customer visits, technical training, product demonstrations and other activities supporting customer satisfaction and business growth.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality and other internal teams to address technical challenges and successfully execute customer and business initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Thermodynamics or a related field is an advantage.
• 5+ years of relevant experience within the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration industry, with proven expertise in the design and application of refrigeration systems using Danfoss Turbocor® centrifugal compressors.
• Strong hands‑on and theoretical knowledge of chillers, refrigeration systems and compressor applications.
• Strong technical analysis, troubleshooting and structured problem‑solving skills, combined with a customer‑focused and business‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; fluent English required, while Italian, German or French is an advantage.
• Availability to travel regularly across Europe to visit OEM customers, typically around 25% of working time, with potentially higher travel during peak periods.
