Bystronic Group in Bolzano, Italy, seeks a 2nd Level Service Technician to support 1st Level teams and ensure maximum uptime of Bystronic tube laser machines at customer sites worldwide. You will install, commission, retrofit and update CNC/PLC installations, diagnose complex issues, mentor colleagues, and document service activities in the CRM.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of technical service experience across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or software engineering, with around 80%

Competenze

• 3–5 years technical service experience: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or software engineering.
• Hands-on experience commissioning industrial machinery, including installation, testing, troubleshooting and start-up.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and documentation.

Mansioni

• Install, disassemble, revise, assemble, commission and hand over Bystronic tube laser machines incl. system integrations.
• Resolve very complex issues; mentor other technicians.
• Assemble electric, pneumatic and hydraulic installations.
• Perform advanced repairs and measurements.
• Retrofit machines at customer sites and modify electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and adjust CNC/PLC parameters; perform software updates/downgrades.
• Identify upgrade opportunities and provide optimization advice at customer sites.
• Complete and communicate service reports and installation documentation; train colleagues; align with ISO.

In a nutshell

As a 2nd Level Service Technician, you will provide hands‑on support to 1st Level Support teams, ensuring maximum uptime of TUBE machines at customer premises worldwide.

What you will be doing

Technical area:

• Installing, fully disassembling, revising, assembling, commissioning & handing over Bystronic tube laser machines, including system integrations.
• Resolve very complex issues. Act as role models to mentor other technicians.
• Assemble electric, pneumatic and hydraulic installations.
• Perform advanced repairs and measurements.
• Retrofit Bystronic Machines at the customer site, including modifying and retrofitting electric, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform updates/modifications on complex issues where solution is not clearly defined.
• Diagnose and adjust parameters of CNC/PLC systems.
• Perform CNC/PLC software updates / downgrades and tests whether those were successful.

Customer interactions:

• Identify needs and opportunity for upgrades to support customer needs.
• Advice and optimization suggestions for machines at the customer's place.

Internal collaboration and learning:

• Complete and communicate required reports such as: service reports, customer feedback and installation documentation in CRM.
• Train other employees on safety instructions and technological skills in PLC / CNC knowledge.
• Follow and initiate quality improvements per ISO guidelines.

Your education & experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years technical service experience: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or software engineering.
• Hands‑on experience commissioning industrial machinery, including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and start-up, is required.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, with a strong commitment to safety compliance, procedures, and accurate documentation.

• Approx. 80% travelling worldwide (mainly Europe).
• Good level of English.
• Adapt at balancing priorities based on repair workload.
