Job summary

Solenis is seeking a Field Service Engineer & Technical Support Specialist to support customers and commercial activities across South Europe, with a primary focus on Italy. This hybrid role is based in Northern Italy and requires regular travel throughout the territory.

The successful candidate will install, start up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial water treatment equipment and dosing systems, while preparing technical and commercial quotations and supporting Sales with expert

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–7 years in Field Service, Technical Support, or Maintenance roles in industrial environments.
• Experience with industrial water treatment, dosing systems, and related equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, start-up, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on water treatment equipment and dosing systems at customer sites.
• Provide technical support remotely and on-site, diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and process issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and propose improvements to equipment reliability.
• Prepare technical and commercial quotations for parts, services, and upgrades.
• Coordinate service activities with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Support Sales with technical input during visits and project development.

Chemical Industry**Salary range**: 35000 - 42000 EUR per annum**Location: North Italy** **Position Overview**Solenis is seeking an experienced **Field Service Engineer & Technical Support Specialist** to support customers and commercial activities across the South Europe region, with a primary focus on Italy.This position is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with a strong **electromechanical background**, experience in **Food & Beverage** and **Industrial Water Treatment** applications, and proven ability to manage customer relationships, service activities, and technical-commercial proposals.The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of customer installations while supporting business growth through technical expertise and solution-oriented service.This is a hybrid position based in Northern Italy, requiring regular travel throughout the territory. **Key Responsibilities**As a Field Service Engineer & Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:* Performing installation, start-up, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on industrial water treatment equipment and dosing systems at customer sites.* Providing technical support and diagnostics, both remotely and on-site, ensuring rapid resolution of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process-related issues.* Conducting preventive maintenance inspections and recommending improvements to optimize equipment reliability and performance.* Supporting customers operating in Food & Beverage and Industrial Water Treatment applications.* Assessing customer needs and identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades, retrofits, and optimization projects.* Preparing technical and commercial quotations for equipment, spare parts, service interventions, maintenance contracts, and system upgrades.* Coordinating service activities with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely execution.* Supporting the Sales and Account Management teams with technical expertise during customer visits and project development.* Preparing service reports, technical documentation, equipment assessments, and maintenance recommendations.* Ensuring compliance with Solenis safety standards and customer site requirements during all field activities.* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the growth of Solenis' Equipment and Solutions business. **The Ideal Candidate**We are looking for a customer-focused and technically skilled professional with:* A degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.* 3-7 years of experience in Field Service, Technical Support, Maintenance Engineering, or Equipment Service roles within industrial environments.* Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills, including electrical systems, motors, pumps, dosing equipment, instrumentation, and process equipment.* Experience within Water Treatment, Food & Beverage, Utilities, Process Industry, or related sectors.* Knowledge of industrial water treatment technologies, chemical dosing systems, filtration systems, pumping equipment, and process instrumentation.* Experience in preparing and managing technical and commercial offers, service quotations, and project cost estimations.* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.* Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.* Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements in industrial facilities.* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.* Fluency in Italian and a good command of English.* Availability to travel approximately 50-60% of the time within Italy* Valid driving license. **Personal Skills*** Strong customer orientation and service mindset.* Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.* Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.* Commercial awareness and ability to identify business opportunities through technical interactions.* Proactive, flexible, and results-driven attitude. **Nice to have*** Previous experience with Food & Beverage production plants, CIP systems, utilities, and process water applications.* Knowledge of reverse osmosis, filtration, softening, disinfection, and industrial wastewater treatment systems.* Experience with digital monitoring platforms, remote diagnostics, and connected industrial equipment.* Project coordination and contractor management experience.
