Job summary

Custodi seeks an entrepreneurial Executive Director to build the organisation and its presence across Italy, developing partnerships and impact within the Our Common Home network. You will define strategy, set priorities, recruit and mentor a small team, and secure sustainable funding to grow the movement.

You will represent Custodi in public discussions, engage with community leaders, institutions and funders, and translate complex policy context into practical, locally grounded environmental

Qualifications

• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build initiatives from the ground up.
• Strong political, institutional and cultural awareness in Italy.
• Experience leading teams, building organisations and fostering accountability.
• Experience designing and delivering community-engaged initiatives.
• Ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders including funders.
• Familiarity with Italian philanthropic landscape and donor engagement.
• Native-level Italian and good working knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement Custodi’s strategic direction aligned with the OCH network.
• Identify opportunities for local and national initiatives and partnerships.
• Build Custodi as an organisation, developing identity, culture and governance.
• Recruit, mentor and lead a small, ambitious team as it grows.
• Establish partnerships with community leaders and institutions across Italy.
• Lead fundraising efforts with foundations, donors and institutional partners.
• Represent Custodi in public discussions, events and media.
• Ensure effective financial, operational and governance processes.
