Amazon Italia Services Srl in Milan seeks a VAT Manager to lead Italian VAT planning and compliance for Stores business, and support Pan-EU Retail initiatives. The role interfaces with senior tax leadership and cross-functional partners across Finance, Legal, and Accounting, traveling within Europe as needed.

Competenze

• Experience tax advisory (excluding compliance)
• Experience in international indirect tax planning and strong understanding of or practical experience with tax laws in other countries
• Experience advisory experience in a large accounting/consultancy practice, law firm, tax authority or business in-house.
• Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues and leadership
• Experience analyzing and reviewing statutes, regulations, and case law and then extracting data to make appropriate recommendations
• Speak, write, and read fluently in Italian
• Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects, is well-organised, possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and is able to deliver on tight deadlines
• Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment
• Familiarity with use of technology tools within tax, including generative AI tools.
• Excellent knowledge of VAT in Italy and EU

Mansioni

• Provide in-depth VAT technical advice on Italian and cross-border VAT matters
• Support audit and controversy projects with sound judgement under tight timelines
• Support the VAT Compliance Team on technical and strategic VAT topics; not day-to-day compliance
• Assist with planning, real-time coordination, and communication of tax projects
• Draft documentation to support analyses, decisions, and conclusions for reporting and compliance
• Manage audit and controversy matters, including engagement with tax authorities
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Accounting to support new launches and ongoing operations
• Communicate complex VAT concepts to non-tax professionals
