The FAO in Rome seeks an Ethics Policy Specialist (non-staff consultant) to support the Ethics Office with policy development, reviews of retaliation cases and outreach. The role will help ensure consistent application of ethics standards across the organization and provide guidance on conflicts of interest and related risks.

Applicants should hold an advanced degree in a relevant field and possess strong analytical, drafting and communication skills, with a background in UN governance or public

Competenze

  • Advanced degree in relevant field; consultants with a bachelor’s degree require two additional years of relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year for category C or 5+ years for category B in ethics, compliance, UN admin law and policy development.
  • Working knowledge of English (level C).

Mansioni

  • Support formulation of FAO-wide ethics policies aligned with UN reform and field realities.
  • Review and advise on policy support activities across departments and offices.
  • Provide guidance on conflicts of interest and retaliation issues.
  • Develop ethics training materials and outreach materials.
  • Prepare project documents, reports, PowerPoint presentations and webinars.
