Ephos is seeking an Equipment Engineer to own wet bench, substrate singulation and CMP tools. You will lead equipment planning, selection and configuration, document preventive maintenance procedures, and train technicians on shift.

You will own installation, start-up and ramp for the tools, while coordinating with Process and Manufacturing to ensure quality and budget adherence. The role requires a BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in semiconductor equipment engineering.

About Ephos

Ephos is building vertically integrated, advanced packaging solutions on glass panels. We transform raw glass into electronic and optically active substrates for die-to-die connectivity, manufactured entirely within our own facilities. The role

You will be the equipment owner for wet bench clean tools, substrate singulation tools and CMP tools. Working with the area process engineer, you will drive equipment planning, selection and configuration, document PM procedures and train technicians to perform them on shift. You will own installation, start-up and volume ramp for all respective process equipment.

Your responsibilities

• Strong focus on keeping timelines and cost/budget control.
• Act as primary decision maker with facilities on equipment hookup and subsequent control.
• Establish and manage the equipment budget and cost model.
• Work in close collaboration with Process and Manufacturing.
• Establish the equipment engineering and maintenance business processes needed to run the tools in production, and document them to quality standards.
• Ensure close interaction with equipment suppliers, including owning the escalation of issues and calling in specialists where needed (travel, service changes).
• Advanced troubleshooting of semiconductor process tool issues.
• Set up equipment performance KPIs, and monitor and adjust them against fab goals.

The candidate we are looking for

• BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related subject
• 5+ years of equipment engineering experience in semiconductor equipment, preferably wet bench, singulation or CMP tools. Equivalent hands‑on experience running a cleanroom facility and its ancillary equipment will also be considered.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and a self‑starter.
• Strong continuous improvement mindset, permanently driving to identify and eliminate waste and errors in business processes, work procedures and instructions, and work organization.
• Can commit to full time lab presence; due to the nature of the role we will not consider remote applicants.
