SolydEra S.p.A. in Pergine Valsugana, Italy, is seeking an Equipment and Automation Engineer to define and implement production equipment, tooling and automation systems for SOFC manufacturing.

The role drives installation, commissioning and qualification from technical requirements through to production hand-over. Based in a technology-focused environment, the candidate will improve machine performance, reliability and data-driven automation while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams

Competenze

• 5+ years of experience in Equipment Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering or a similar production environment.
• Experience in technology-intensive manufacturing environments such as fuel cells, batteries, electronics, advanced ceramics, automotive or medical devices.
• Proven experience with production equipment specification, procurement, installation, commissioning and qualification.
• Fluent English required; Italian highly preferred.

Job Purpose

The Equipment and Automation Engineer reports to the Head of Industrialisation and is responsible for the specification, installation, commissioning and qualification of production equipment, tooling and automation systems for SOFC manufacturing.

The role manages equipment projects from technical requirements through to production hand-over, while improving equipment performance, reliability, availability and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define technical requirements and specifications for production equipment, tooling and automation systems, supporting supplier selection and procurement.
• Manage installation, commissioning and qualification activities, including FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ/PQ.
• Define automation and digitalisation requirements, including data acquisition, traceability and manufacturing system interfaces.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Automation, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in Equipment Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering or a similar production environment.
• Experience in technology-intensive manufacturing environments such as fuel cells, batteries, electronics, advanced ceramics, automotive or medical devices.
• Proven experience with production equipment specification, procurement, installation, commissioning and qualification.
• Good understanding of PLC, HMI, industrial communication, sensors, drives, robotics and vision systems. Programming experience is not required.
• Knowledge of machine safety, CE marking, risk assessment, OEE and structured problem solving.
• Experience managing external suppliers and equipment projects, including budget and schedule control.
• Good command of Excel and data analysis; familiarity with ERP, CMMS or manufacturing execution systems is a plus.
• Fluent English required; Italian highly preferred.
• Experience with high-temperature processes, furnaces, brazing, ceramic processing or controlled-environment production is a plus.

The role is based in Pergine Valsugana (Trento), Italy, with regular presence on the production floor and at suppliers' premises.

Availability to travel, including internationally, is required.

Salary range:

€ 35.000 – € 45.000 gross annual salary (RAL), depending on the candidate's qualifications, experience and skills.
