Herbrooks Consulting S.r.l is seeking an Engineering Director for the Electrical & Electromechanical sector to lead the engineering function and govern product development, governance, and lifecycle processes. The role drives strategy, budget, and performance across global teams.

The candidate will oversee certification, compliance, and safety aspects, ensuring alignment with international standards while steering innovation roadmaps and audit follow-ups.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electronic and electromechanical components and systems for industrial applications.
• Extensive leadership in Engineering, R&D, or Product Development with governance of Engineering Services and Technical Support.
• Experience with product safety, homologation, compliance documentation, and international standards.

For our multinational client company specialized in theproductionof electromechanical components and systems, we are looking for a Engineering Director.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Director leads the Engineering function,ensuring effective technical strategy, product development, engineeringgovernance, resource and budget management, compliance, and continuousimprovement. The role owns the Engineering processes and monitors theirconsistent application across the organization, including Engineering Servicesand Technical Support activities performed within the Business Segments, whichreport functionally to the Engineering Director for engineering standards,processes, and technical governance.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Defineand execute the Engineering strategy in alignment with businessobjectives.
• Leadthe Engineering function and directly manage Engineering and R&Dteams, ensuring the required skills, capabilities, and priorities.
• Define,maintain, and improve Engineering and Product Lifecycle processes,standards, tools, and best practices.
• Monitorthe application of Engineering processes across the organization,including Technical Support activities through functional reporting lines.
• Managethe Engineering budget, resources, capacity planning, KPIs, risks, andproject execution priorities.
• Leadproduct development, innovation roadmaps, validation, certification,industrialization, and lifecycle management.
• Ensurecompliance with applicable standards, regulations, environmental, safety,and sustainability requirements.
• Providefunctional governance over Engineering Services activities, includingreliability analysis, FMEA methodologies, RAMS/EN50126 certification,product safety, homologation, and liaison with certification authorities.
• Providefunctional governance over Product/Business Segment Technical Supportactivities, including technical support to sales and customers,documentation alignment, drawing reviews, FAI participation, and technicalcoaching.
• Overseeproduct certification and technical compliance documentation, acting asauthorized signatory where required.
• DriveIntellectual Property strategy, patent portfolio management, continuousimprovement, and audit follow-up actions.
• Representthe company in relevant technical and standardization committees.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’sor Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strongknowledge of electronic and electromechanical components and systems for industrialapplications.
• Extensiveleadership experience in Engineering, R&D, Product Development, orsimilar technical functions, including functional governanceofEngineering Services and Technical Support activities.
• Strongknowledge of engineering governance, product development, reliability,certification, lifecycle management, budgeting, capacity planning, andtechnical support processes.
• Experiencewith product safety, homologation, compliance documentation, andinternational standards in industrial or transportation sectors.
• Experiencecoordinating an international engineering network, including Engineeringstaff in other locations, especially Best Cost Country EngineeringCenters.
• Fluentwritten and spoken English.
• Experienceworking with different cultures.

The compensationpackage consists of: a gross annual salary of €90,000 + €15,000 MBO + a companycar for mixed use.
