Job summary

EdgeConneX is seeking a technically accomplished Senior Data Center Design Engineer for EMEA to lead mechanical design integrity across a portfolio of campuses.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in data center mechanical engineering, hands-on experience with liquid cooling and large chilled-water systems, and a track record of successful design reviews, FATs, and commissioning. Travel 25–40% across EMEA is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional engineering credentials and data center certifications (e.g., CDCP, ATD) are valued.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior mechanical discipline authority across the portfolio of assigned campuses in EMEA; ensure designs and installations conform to GD&E standards.
• Engage at design reviews, submittal and RFI resolution for critical mechanical scope, FAT, and commissioning-readiness assessments.
• Validate mechanical readiness and support TPM/DM site team rather than working in parallel.
• Route site-specific deviations through the approval process when global standards require tailoring.
• Provide informal technical leadership and mentoring to regional SMEs to improve design review consistency.
• Review deliverables from the execution partner for conformance with standards and practice.
• Ensure customer-specific requirements are captured and reconciled with the EdgeConneX standard; escalate conflicts appropriately.
• Feed field and commissioning lessons learned back to improve global standards.
