Job summary

AECOM Italy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Milan-based Mechanical Engineering team. You will design and coordinate HVAC and cooling systems for data centers and critical facilities, working within multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires about 5 years of experience in HVAC, familiarity with data center guidelines, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. The position offers hybrid work, competitive compensation, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Approx. 5 years of professional experience in HVAC and mechanical systems design for buildings or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with data center or critical facilities HVAC systems preferred.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and general HVAC design standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit for modeling and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support design of HVAC and heat rejection systems for data centers and critical facilities.
• Contribute to selection and layout of cooling solutions (CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, DX, in-row cooling).
• Perform cooling/heating load calculations using industry tools.
• Assist in design of chilled water plants and mechanical ventilation systems.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports in English.
