TXT e-Tech, part of TXT Group, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for a client site in the Aerospace & Aviation division. The role involves working on the Airborne Armament Computer within a real-time embedded environment certified to DO-178C.

Key activities include eliciting system requirements, developing HL/HLR, DOORS-based documentation, and software integration. A background in C and avionics is preferred for this permanent position.

Job description

TXT e-Tech, part of the TXT Group, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to work at one of our clients’ sites within the Aerospace & Aviation division.

As part of the European MALE RPAS programme, the successful candidate will join the development team for the Airborne Armament Computer (AAC), a component of the AAS system, and will be involved in all phases of the software development cycle: from the elicitation of system requirements through to the writing, integration and configuration management of the application code, working within a real-time embedded environment certified to the DO-178C aeronautical standard.

Key responsibilities

• Involvement in the elicitation of AAS system requirements to feed into the software development process.
• Involvement in the development of software requirements (High-Level Requirements) based on the system requirements.
• Involvement in the development of the Detailed Design, including the production of low-level requirements (where necessary) for the AAS system.
• Writing and maintaining requirements in the DOORS database.
• Involvement in the development, integration and configuration management of the AAS system’s application code.

Technical requirements

• Knowledge of the C programming language;
• Experience in programming real-time embedded applications in the avionics sector.

Optional technical requirements

• Knowledge of the RTCA DO-178C standard;
• Experience in preparing software requirements (HLR) for real-time embedded applications in the avionics sector; knowledge of the IBM Rational Rhapsody tool (SysML/UML);
• Knowledge of the IBM Rational DOORS tool;
• Knowledge of the Serena Dimensions tool;
• Knowledge of the Integrity 178B ARINC 653 real-time embedded operating system;
• Knowledge of the MathWorks Polyspace tool (Bug Finder and Code Prover).

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or Electronics.

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate attention to detail, an aptitude for teamwork and a keen interest in learning and developing within complex, multidisciplinary technological environments.
