Bertrandt is seeking an Embedded C++ Software Engineer to join a defence-focused project in Rome. The role involves designing, developing and validating software for real-time and safety-critical embedded platforms running Linux and VxWorks, with relocation to Rome and a hybrid working model.

You will work with hardware, system engineering and validation teams, ensuring integration, testing and documentation comply with project standards. English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related disciplines.
• Proven experience in Embedded Software Development.
• Strong knowledge of C++.
• Good knowledge of Python.
• Experience with Embedded Linux environments.
• Experience with RTOS architectures and real-time systems.
• Knowledge of VxWorks or similar OS.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency and synchronization mechanisms.
• Experience with communication protocols and networking concepts.
• Experience with serial communication interfaces.
• Knowledge of Git Hub.
• Experience with Jenkins and CMake.
• Experience in software integration, testing and troubleshooting.
• Good English communication skills.

For a leading international Defence company based in Rome, we are looking for an Embedded C++ Software Engineer to support the development of advanced real-time and safety-critical systems.

The selected candidate will be involved in the design, development, integration and validation of software applications running on embedded platforms based on Linux and RTOS technologies, contributing to mission-critical Defence programs.

• Experience working in Agile environments;
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence;
• Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies and automated software delivery processes.

Yearly Gross Salary: €40,000 - €50,000
