COL Group, a long-established electromechanical leader in Italy, seeks an Electrical Switchgear Technician for HV systems to build, wire, install and test high‑voltage switchboards.

You will read electrical drawings, work primarily in the workshop with occasional site assignments, and ensure compliance with CEI, IEC and Legislative Decree 81/08.

The role offers growth, training, and a pathway to permanent employment, with a gross annual salary of €25,000–€30,000 under CCNL Metalmeccanica.

Competenze

• Technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV switchgear wiring and assembly.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Knowledge of protection devices and electrical components.
• Experience with electrical testing and commissioning activities.
• Willingness to travel for installation and commissioning.

We are looking for an Electrical Switchgear Technician for High Voltage (HV) Systems, a skilled professional specialized in the construction, assembly, wiring, installation, and testing of electrical switchboards for high-voltage applications. The successful candidate will work from electrical drawings and technical specifications to ensure the proper assembly and functionality of transmission, control, protection, and automation systems.

Field of activity

• Electrical workshop / switchboard manufacturing (approximately 99% of working time).
• Power transmission or distribution construction sites (approximately 1% of working time).

Responsabilities

• Wiring and assembling power distribution and automation electrical switchgear.
• Installing electrical components, including circuit breakers, relays, PLCs, terminal blocks, and protection devices.
• Reading and interpreting single-line and multi-line electrical diagrams.
• Installing cable ducts, routing cables, and performing electrical connections.
• Inspecting electrical connections and carrying out quality checks on completed switchgear
• Performing electrical testing and functional commissioning activities.
• Supporting the commissioning and start-up of electrical systems.
• Diagnosing and resolving wiring issues and electrical faults.
• Ensuring compliance with technical standards and safety regulations (CEI, IEC, Legislative Decree 81/08).

Required Skills

• Technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV electrical switchgear wiring and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and panel layouts.
• Good knowledge of electrical components and protection devices.
• Proficiency in using electrical measuring instruments (testers, multimeters, testing equipment).
• Basic understanding of industrial automation systems (PLCs, contactors, relays).
• Knowledge of applicable technical standards and workplace safety regulations.
• Accuracy, manual dexterity, and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work both in the workshop and on customer sites.
• Willingness to travel when required for installation and commissioning activities.
