COL GROUP is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Specialist Junior in Italy to join a team delivering protection, control, and automation solutions for high- and medium-voltage projects. You will analyze technical specs, perform tests on relays and IEDs, and contribute to project documentation.

The role emphasizes training junior staff, working across projects, and growing technical expertise within a dynamic and innovative group. LOCATION: Milano area.

Competenze

• Technical diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• At least 1 year of field experience.
• Knowledge of TERNA protection and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical substation schematics and diagrams.
• Familiarity with IEC 61131 PLCs.
• Knowledge of relay testing software tools (TDMS, Test Universe).

• Analyze the customer’s technical specifications with careful interpretation and application.
• Perform factory and on-site functional tests, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting on protection relays and IEDs.
• Draft and manage technical documentation related to work and projects.

Electrical Commissioning Specialist Junior

We are seeking a Electrical Commissioning Specialist Junior.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing the customer’s technical specifications, with careful attention to correct interpretation and application
• Performing factory and on-site functional tests, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting on devices under test (such as protection relays, control IEDs, automation systems, etc.)
• Drafting and managing technical documentation related to work and projects
• Taking responsibility for training and professional development of junior staff through mentoring and knowledge transfer

Required Skills

• Technical diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering will be considered a plus
• At least 1 year of experience in the field
• Basic knowledge of TERNA protection and control systems (SPCC DCO and DPT)
• Basic knowledge of testing procedures for protection, control, and monitoring devices (BPU, BCU, BMU, sensors)
• Basic ability to read electrical substation schematics, station automation diagrams, and power plant drawings
• Familiarity with PLC logic management based on IEC61131 protocol
• Basic knowledge of electrical protection software such as Digsi, PCM600, Micom S3, etc.
• Basic knowledge of relay testing software/tools such as TDMS (ISA) and TEST UNIVERSE (OMICRON)
• Basic knowledge of LAN networks and SCADA systems
• Basic knowledge of communication protocols/profiles (IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-103, IEC 60870-5-104, …)
