Brightsmith in Rome is seeking an Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience designing solar PV plants and delivering grid connections. You will work across development, detailed design and construction, strengthening the project pipeline in Italy.

This hands-on role focuses on PV plant design, grid interconnectivity and collaborating with Development, Procurement and external consultants. A 3+ year background in renewables and proficiency with PV software are desired.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Energy Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering within renewable energy.
• Experience with PV design software and grid connection design.

Rome | Full-Time | PV Electrical Engineer

If you're an Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience designing solar PV plants and working on grid connections, this could be a great opportunity to join a growing renewable energy business in Rome.

We're partnering with a renewable energy company developing and delivering projects across Italy. As the business continues to grow its project pipeline, they're looking to strengthen their Engineering team with an Electrical Engineer who can support projects across development, detailed design and construction.

This is a hands-on technical role with a particular focus on PV plant design and grid interconnectivity, working closely with Development, Procurement, external engineering consultants and wider project teams.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out preliminary and detailed design of solar PV plants, including plant layouts and electrical sizing.
• Design and evaluate MV and HV grid connection solutions.
• Assess grid connection configurations for both self-consumption and grid feed-in projects.
• Support early-stage project development through yield assessments, grid connection analysis and preliminary engineering.
• Prepare electrical schematics, technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Review technical and design documentation produced by external engineering consultants.
• Support Procurement with the technical evaluation and selection of modules, inverters, trackers and other key components.
• Support renewable energy projects throughout the wider development and construction process.
• Depending on experience, contribute to the engineering of BESS and wind projects alongside the core solar portfolio.

What we're looking for

• At least 3 years' experience in electrical engineering within renewable energy, ideally with 3–5 years of relevant project experience.
• Experience using specialist PV design software such as PVcase, PVsyst and/or PV*SOL.
• Strong experience with grid interconnectivity and grid connection design, ideally across MV and/or HV connections.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design/CAD tools.
• Ability to produce technical reports, electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of relevant CEI, IEC and UNI technical standards.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Experience with BESS and/or wind projects would be advantageous.
