Job summary

MET Group seeks a Deputy to the European Sales Market Risk Manager for the Eastern European division. You will engage with regional subsidiaries, monitor risk across sales and operations, and work with senior leaders to embed risk in daily decisions and long-term strategy.

You will support the Group risk framework, validate models, and enhance analytics and reporting tools to identify exposures and mitigate risks across markets in Europe. Strong English and regional language skills are required.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of market risk experience in energy downstream activities such as pricing, forecasting and portfolio management.
• Strong knowledge of regional power and/or gas markets with Eastern European exposure preferred.
• Experience at a gas or power utility or similar energy company is highly valued.
• Fluent English; a regional language (Hungarian, Romanian, Turkish, Bulgarian) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Act as Deputy to the European Sales Market Risk Manager for the Eastern European Sales Division.
• Engage daily with regional subsidiaries to assess risks linked to sales activities and operations.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to integrate risk considerations into daily decisions and long-term strategy.
• Support the implementation of the Group’s risk framework and policies across subsidiaries.
• Monitor positions, oversee sales activities, track PnL, and analyze risk data to identify exposures.
• Report deviations or risk issues to the Market Risk Manager at divisional and local levels.
• Develop tailored risk frameworks addressing local business drivers and model validation processes.
• Enhance risk models, analytics, and reporting tools to improve monitoring.
• Conduct VaR back-testing, sensitivity analyses, and scenario simulations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance requirements.
• Design actionable risk solutions in collaboration with commercial and risk stakeholders.
• Shape divisional risk policies in partnership with senior leadership.
