The International School of Milan is seeking a caring, enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join from August 2026. You will support teaching and learning in the Early Years, working with the class teacher to create a safe, engaging environment for young learners.

Patience, energy and a passion for early development are essential. Responsibilities include supporting play-based learning, supervising children, and contributing to a positive classroom culture.

The role

The successful candidate will support teaching and learning within the Early Years setting, working closely with the class teacher to create a safe, engaging and stimulating environment for young learners. This role requires patience, energy and a genuine passion for supporting children's early development.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning experiences
• Lead learning with individual children and small groups to support development
• Assist in setting up and maintaining a stimulating Early Years learning environment
• Support children's social, emotional and physical development
• Help manage classroom routines, transitions and behaviour in a positive manner
• Contribute to monitoring children's progress and communicate observations to the class teacher
• Support children with additional needs where required
• Ensure a safe, clean and well-organised classroom environment
• Supervise children during playtime, activities and school events
• Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Requirements

• Experience working with young children (ages 2-5)

• Experience supporting children with additional learning needs (desirable)
• Italian language skills (advantageous but not essential)
