Job summary

DHL Asia Pacific Shared Services in Lombardy, Italy, seeks an Director of Operations to lead Kuwait country operations, drive performance, and ensure security and ISO/TAPA compliance while coordinating with regional teams.

The role focuses on cost control, facility planning, and expanding the road-haul network, demanding high-level leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree level education preferred; experience in leading large teams is valued.
• 6-8 years in Operations with 5+ years leading large teams.
• Strong understanding of Service Theory, Operations Management, THP/TSP/GSOP, ISO processes and TAPA.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Proficient PC skills, especially MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage country operations cost and service performance against standards.
• Maintain gateway status and security compliance (TAPA).
• Oversee facilities maintenance and optimal site locations.
• Ensure ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 compliance and drive continuous improvement.
• Plan new facility locations and customer touchpoints.
• Control costs and achieve cost targets with Business Units.
• Ensure pickup, delivery and shipment processing meet performance standards.
• Implement regional and country projects and realize business benefits.
• Lead and train the Operations team to meet targets and manage performance.
• Coordinate with Regional Hub, Transportation, Sales and third-party contractors to grow road haulage network.
• Monitor transit times and take action to meet targets.
• Manage fleet and ensure vehicle availability at optimal cost.
• Oversee construction/renovation of facilities to meet forecasted volumes.
• Develop country quality strategy aligned with ISO standards.
• Measure service performance using Service Quality Index.
• Develop and manage nationwide security program.
