GEA Group in Italy is seeking a Director of Engineering & Project Management to lead Engineering, R&D and Project Execution for the Cheese Processing portfolio. You will drive design-to-cost, manage global teams and ensure successful orders from intake to commissioning, while supporting an annual order value around €15-20 million.

As a key leader, you will shape the product development pipeline, collaborate with Sales and regional units, and uphold high safety and quality standards across

Competenze

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education.
• 15+ years of experience in food processing machinery and processing line design.
• Experience in dairy/cheese-making technologies is advantageous.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
• Experience working in international matrix organizations.
• Strong customer orientation and relationship-building skills.
• Open-minded, solution-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Fluent in Italian and English.

Mansioni

• Lead global Engineering and R&D activities for Cheese Processing equipment and lines.
• Ensure successful engineering execution of customer orders with high customization.
• Drive Design-to-Cost initiatives with Production and Supply Chain.
• Lead product improvement and new development activities.
• Monitor KPIs: engineering hours, costs, lead times, warranty costs, equipment performance.
• Ensure machine safety compliance across the portfolio.
• Provide technical support to stakeholders and oversee installation/commissioning.
• Collaborate with customers or via GEA's execution network by region.
• Contribute to business development and investment prioritization for Cheese Processing.
• Manage department cost center and personnel costs.
