Job summary

UNICEF - United Nations Children’s Fund in Rome seeks a Deputy Director for the Division of Global Communications and Advocacy (DGCA), a fixed-term leadership role guiding global advocacy, communications strategy, and engagement with major partners. The role requires extensive international experience, strong leadership, and a track record in driving child-rights advocacy at scale.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in international relations, diplomacy, social sciences or communications.
• Thirteen years of relevant work experience in international development or human rights, with results in advocacy and campaigning.
• Experience in partnership building and policy dialogue.
• Proven skills in managing advocacy and communications, including messaging and monitoring results.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic guidance and leadership for DGCA sections (Global Advocacy, Humanitarian Advocacy, Strategic Partnerships and Brand).
• Oversee the Global Communications and Advocacy Strategy and plan implementation across HQ, regional and country offices.
• Foster collaboration with UNICEF divisions, regional offices, and national committees to advance child rights advocacy.
