Job summary

MDOTM Ltd in Lombardy, Italy, is seeking a Data Engineer to scale our analytics platform and own data flow from ingestion to consumption. You will ensure data reliability, accessibility, and quality for a broad range of stakeholders.

You will design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines, manage data infrastructure on AWS or on-premises, and collaborate with Data Scientists to enable analytics and modeling use cases.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Java or Python (or other JVM-based languages).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with large-scale and time-series datasets, especially in financial contexts.
• Experience building and maintaining production data pipelines with reliability and performance.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines and data-intensive systems
• Configure, schedule, and monitor data pipeline execution for reliability and timely delivery
• Deploy and manage data infrastructure on AWS or on-premises
• Monitor and optimize relational and NoSQL database performance
• Ensure reliable ingestion, transformation, and availability of financial data
• Implement and maintain data quality, validation, and monitoring
• Define and evolve data models and storage structures
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts to enable analytics
• Optimize data processing workflows for performance and stability
• Troubleshoot complex data issues and drive root cause analysis
• Contribute to technical decision-making and roadmap for data infrastructure
