Job summary

Lexroom is building the AI platform where legal work gets done. We’re looking for a Data Engineer to own and improve the pipelines behind our knowledge base and document processing, reporting to the Head of Data.

You’ll work with Product, AI Engineering and Legal Engineering to design scalable ETL pipelines, ensure data quality, security, and performance, and scale our data infrastructure as we grow in Milan and beyond.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering in fast-growing tech, SaaS, or AI companies.
• Strong Python skills and proven experience designing and running scalable ETL pipelines.
• SQL and NoSQL databases, object storage, and vector databases.
• Cloud data infrastructure experience; GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable.
• Monitoring and ownership of production pipelines end-to-end.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Milan; fluent in English and Italian.

Responsibilities

• Legal Data Infrastructure: manage and improve infrastructure behind the legal database.
• Document Processing Pipelines: build and improve OCR, extraction, context tagging and anonymization.
• Data Security & Privacy: ensure secure handling of files in private user libraries.
• Reliability & Monitoring: own pipeline health with monitoring and data quality checks.
• Scale & Performance: optimize pipelines for large data volumes and robustness.
