Job summary

Oerlikon Group is entering a data-driven journey, building a cloud data platform to empower Analytics, AI and digitalization. The Data Engineer will translate business requirements into data platform solutions on MS Azure/Fabric, working in Brugherio with a hybrid work model.

The role focuses on data management, data modeling, and delivering Power BI dashboards, alongside DevOps practices and cross-functional collaboration within a global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, IT or similar.
• Proven 4+ years in data management/analytics roles (data engineer/architect).
• Experience with data modeling methods and ER/DF design.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, storage, integration and governance products.
• Understanding of cloud data storage, processing and analytics services.
• Knowledge of CI/CD on Azure and GitHub in data environments.
• Proficiency in Italian and English.
• Experience in multinational distributed teams.
• Power BI dashboards/reports development experience.

Oerlikon is embarking on an ambitious data-driven journey, with a brand-new cloud data platform to be built at the heart of this transformation as enabler for Analytics, AI and digitalization in general. Data Engineering will play a key role in this journey, ensuring the delivery of Data Products.

In this context we are looking for you as a Data Engineer to analyze business requirements, transferring them into solution concepts and implementing them on our new MS Azure/Fabric based Data Platform.

The position is based in Brugherio (MB) and offers a hybrid work model.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements related to data management and analytics.
• Develop solution concepts, following guidelines, templates and best practices.
• Implement data management solutions, included integration, transformation, data modelling and storage on Microsoft.
• Deliver maintenance to developed solutions if necessary.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or similar.
• Proven track record of at least 4 years of work experience in roles related to data management and analytics, such as data engineer, data architect and similar.
• Proficiency in data modeling methodologies and tools (understanding of concepts such as normalization, and experience in designing entity-relationship diagrams and data flow diagrams).
• Experience with cloud data platform solutions including data storage, integration tools and frameworks, data management and data governance products.
• Understanding of general cloud services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
• Knowledge and practical experience with DevOps principles and tools, and how to use them in a data management/analytics environment. This includes knowledge of CI/CD on Azure and GitHub.
• Proficiency in Italian and in English.
• Experienced in multinational and geographically distributed work environments.
• Proven experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.

• A permanent, full-time employment contract under the Metalworking Industry National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL). The gross annual salary for this role ranges between €38,000 and €48,000. The final compensation package will be determined based on predefined, objective, fair, and gender-neutral criteria, including professional experience, relevant experience in a similar role, educational background, technical expertise, and soft skills.
