Job summary

AECOM in Milan, Italy is seeking an Electrical Engineer with around 5 years of experience in electrical building services and data centers. You will focus on electrical design and project engineering within multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, fluency in Italian and English, and experience with AutoCAD and Revit/BIM. This on-site position offers growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Approx. 5 years of professional experience in electrical design for buildings, infrastructure, or critical facilities.
• Familiarity with data center projects, critical power systems, or mission-critical environments.
• Working knowledge of power distribution, emergency power systems, load calculations, and electrical codes and standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit/BIM for electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of electrical systems for data centers and mission-critical facilities, including power distribution and UPS systems.
• Perform electrical load calculations considering IT loads, cooling, and auxiliary services.
• Assist in selection of transformers, switchgear, UPS, and distribution boards with standards compliance.
• Develop reliable electrical architectures with redundancy concepts and backup power solutions.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers for integration with HVAC/cooling infrastructure.
• Prepare drawings, technical reports and specifications; interface with architects and contractors.
• Support testing, commissioning, and site activities to verify design intent.
