Job summary

Huawei Italy Research Centers is seeking a Creative Design Intern to join the Raffaello Research Center in Milan. You will support the creative team in developing visual identities, brand systems, and communication assets while shaping the visual direction of research-driven projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed studies in graphic design, visual communication, branding or related field.
• Strong portfolio showcasing branding and graphic design work.
• Solid understanding of typography, composition, color theory and VI concepts.
• Experience creating logos, identity systems, iconography and editorial layouts.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Interest in visual storytelling, photography, and creative direction.

Creative Design Intern in a nutshell

The position will be part of our Raffaello Research Center (RRC), one of Huawei's research centers committed to enhancing the quality of Huawei products by creating a strong design ecosystem. As a Creative Design Intern at RRC, you'll support the creative team in developing visual identities, brand systems, and communication assets while contributing to the visual direction of research-driven and innovation-focused projects. You will have an opportunity to work on strategic design challenges where branding is not just about aesthetics, but about creating coherent, meaningful, and future-oriented visual ecosystems. The studio is located in Milan, Italy, one of Europe’s most dynamic and international cities.

What will you do?

• Design visual identities for brands, products, and innovation initiatives.
• Create logos, color systems, typography, iconography, and visual guidelines.
• Develop brand assets and graphic materials across digital and physical touchpoints.
• Build mood boards, visual narratives, and creative references.
• Support art direction for campaigns, presentations, and concept communication.
• Research visual trends, emerging aesthetics, and cultural signals.
• Collaborate with designers, strategists, and researchers across multiple disciplines.
• Translate complex ideas into clear, compelling visual communication.

What are we looking for?

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Branding, or a related field.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating branding and graphic design projects.
• Solid understanding of typography, composition, color theory, and VI
• Experience creating logos, identity systems, iconography, editorial layouts.
• Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Interest in visual storytelling, photography, and creative direction.
• Ability to create mood boards and define visual languages and concepts.
• Curious mindset and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, design research, and innovation.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to Have

• Motion graphics or animation skills.
• Illustration.
• AI-assisted creative workflows.
• Basic photography or image editing.
• Knowledge of automotive or product design ecosystems.
