The Milan Aesthetic Research Center (MARC) within Huawei invites an Automotive Creative Exterior Designer to shape the brand's future mobility aesthetics in Milan.

You will translate sketches into production-ready proposals, collaborate with Product, UX and Brand teams, and travel to China and other hubs to align global design language. A strong Blender and AI-assisted toolkit is expected and English fluency is essential.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automotive Design.
• 1–4 years of automotive/mobility design experience or a strong portfolio.
• Proficient 2D/3D design from sketching to digital rendering.
• Fluent English; Chinese is a plus.

At the Milan Aesthetic Research Center (MARC), design is not just a discipline — it’s a cultural engine. MARC is one of Huawei’s global research hubs dedicated to shaping the emotional and aesthetic identity of future cars and brands. Here, we explore new designs, forms, materials, and new experiences that elevate Huawei’s global design language. As an Automotive Creative Exterior Designer, you will join a team where imagination meets advanced technology. You’ll collaborate with specialists in Product, UX, and Brand, contributing to the next generation of Huawei mobility experiences. All of this happens in the heart of Milan, a city where design, fashion, and innovation collide every day.

What will you be doing?

• Create bold exterior visions, and develop exterior design proposals that push boundaries and define the next wave of Huawei automotive aesthetics.
• Shape ideas from sketch to final product, this means that you will follow projects from early concept exploration to production‑ready proposals.
• By elevating creativity you will be bringing strong creative energy, curiosity, and attention to detail, refining ideas into polished, competitive design solutions.
• Create compelling design stories that help to present your concepts clearly and confidently, ensuring alignment across teams.
• Understand the world’s fastest‑moving market by building a deep understanding of the Chinese automotive landscape and its design dynamics.
• Collaborate globally! You will be travelling to China and other project hubs several times per year to support development, benchmark trends, and work closely with HQ design teams.

What skills do you bring?

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automotive Design.
• Experience in automotive or mobility design within a top‑tier agency or in‑house studio (1-4 years of experience is a plus, or a highly creative portfolio).
• Strong 2D/3D design abilities — from expressive sketching to refined digital rendering.
• Advanced proficiency in Blender for modeling and visualization.
• Ability to collaborate with clay modelers at small or full scale.
• High fluency with AI‑driven design tools to accelerate creativity and workflow.
• A portfolio that demonstrates strong design thinking across multiple sectors.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate design intent.
• A collaborative mindset with the confidence to work independently when needed.
• Fluency in English; Chinese is a plus.
• Comfort working in a multicultural, international environment.
