Job summary

LUZA Group in Turin, Italy is seeking a Cost Engineer – Electrical Motors. The role covers cost analysis, should-cost modelling and optimization across vehicle development programs from concept to SOP. You will develop cost targets, analyze supplier quotations and support negotiations with Purchasing.

We expect 1–6 years of experience in automotive cost engineering, with strong knowledge of electric motor tech, manufacturing processes and cost drivers. Hybrid work model applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechanical, Industrial or Automotive Engineering.
• 1–5 years of experience in Cost Engineering, Product Costing or Technical Purchasing in automotive.
• At least 1 year of experience with electric motors or electrified powertrain components.
• Knowledge of PMSM and induction motors and related manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience with costing tools such as aPriori, Teamcenter PCM/TcPCM, Facton, SAP and Excel.
• Fluent in English and Italian.

Responsibilities

• Develop should-cost models and detailed cost breakdowns for automotive electric motors.
• Analyse cost structures of PMSM, induction motors and traction architectures.
• Define and justify cost targets across program stages with stakeholders.
• Analyse supplier quotations and open-book cost breakdowns.
• Assess material costs, cycle times, volumes and tooling investments.
• Support supplier negotiations with technical and economic arguments.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and quantify savings with internal teams and suppliers.
• Conduct teardown analyses and benchmarking to identify opportunities.
• Evaluate cost impact of engineering changes and new motor technologies.
• Develop cost models and databases for the electrical motor commodity.
