Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive, Electronic or Industrial Management Engineering.
• 1–5 years of experience in Cost Engineering, Product Costing or Technical Purchasing within the automotive industry.
• At least 1 year of experience in automotive lighting systems or plastics/electromechanical commodities, at an OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to lighting systems (injection molding, tooling, vacuum metallization, SMT/PCB, LED binning, final assembly).
• Proven experience in developing should-cost models and analysing supplier open-book cost breakdowns.

Responsabilités

• Develop should-cost models and cost breakdowns for exterior lighting systems.
• Define and justify cost targets at different program stages.
• Analyse supplier quotations and identify gaps against targets.
• Prepare technical and economic arguments to support supplier negotiations.
• Participate in supplier negotiations and meetings as cost expert for the commodity.
• Drive Design-to-Cost, VA/VE and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Conduct teardown analyses and benchmarking to identify optimization opportunities.
• Assess cost impact of engineering changes and localization/sourcing scenarios.
• Develop and improve cost models, databases and costing methodologies.
• Mentor junior team members and report cost status to management.
