Waters Corporation is seeking a Clinical Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and repair LC-MS systems in regulated clinical laboratories. This field-based role offers variety and the chance to become a trusted technical partner to customers.

You will travel as needed, build relationships, and support customers by troubleshooting, calibrating and upgrading Waters instrumentation while ensuring compliance and quality. The job combines technical work with customer-facing duties.

This is a varied and rewarding field-based role in which you will install, maintain and repair analytical systems, solve technical problems and build trusted relationships with the customers you support. Responsibilities

So, what does a Clinical Field Service Engineer do? Below are some of the key responsibilities:

• Install, qualify, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Waters LC-MS systems within regulated clinical laboratory environments.
• Analyse system performance and diagnostic data to identify the source of technical problems and determine the appropriate corrective action.
• Work closely with our wider technical and support teams to resolve issues efficiently, escalating more complex problems when required.
• Manage customer expectations by clearly communicating the work performed and providing follow-up plans where required.
• Complete service records and other required documentation accurately and promptly, in accordance with Waters' quality and regulatory procedures.
• Build strong relationships with customers, providing appropriate advice and support on Waters products and services while identifying opportunities to further improve their laboratory operations.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

Education

• A minimum bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, biology, physics, engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline is essential.

Experience

• Practical experience working with complex analytical or laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fluidic and software-related issues.
• Experience maintaining, calibrating or troubleshooting analytical instrumentation would be advantageous.
• Previous experience using or servicing LC-MS instrumentation, preferably Waters systems, is strongly preferred.
• Experience within a clinical, forensic, hospital, IVD or other regulated laboratory environment would be advantageous.
• A valid driving licence in good standing is mandatory.
• Willingness to undertake overnight travel when required, including international travel for technical training.

• Fluent Italian and a good professional command of spoken and written English, equivalent to at least B2 under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The role requires regular communication with an English-speaking manager and international colleagues, as well as participation in technical training delivered in English.
• Frequent overnight travel may be required.
