CMRE, part of NATO, seeks a scientist with a strong background in climate change and security to join its Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation in La Spezia, Italy. You will analyze climate data and its implications for defence across NATO domains, contributing to reports and international publications.

The role involves multi‑disciplinary collaboration, development of proposals for external funding, and organization of workshops and wargames.

Competenze

• Proven expertise in climate science and related disciplines, data science or engineering.
• Research record evidenced by peer‑reviewed publications and technical reports.
• Proven experience in defence analysis, including knowledge of modern military capabilities and problems.

Mansioni

• Support the programme of work investigating Climate Change impacts on NATO defence.
• Execute research in CCS programme across NATO operational environments.
• Revise internal reports and author scientific articles for publication.
• Support NATO workshops and conferences; develop multi‑national projects and funding proposals.
• Lead or support organisation of Table‑Top exercises and wargames focused on CCS scenarios.
• Collaborate with other projects as required.
