The Tour Guy in Rome is looking for a curious, commercially minded professional with e-commerce experience to manage and optimize product experiences. You will audit categories, grow the portfolio, and build supplier relationships to improve performance.

The role requires CMS handling, pricing accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration across CX, marketing, and operations. With 6-month fixed-term contract and €23,000–€30,000 gross per year, plus meal vouchers, this position offers growth

Competenze

  • 2 years in e-commerce, category management, merchandising, product management, or digital marketing.
  • 2 years in tourism, hospitality, or local travel services.
  • Experience analyzing and improving online product performance.
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as TourCMS, Bokun, or WordPress.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Curious and commercially minded with strong problem-solving.
  • Understanding of CVR, ATC, traffic, bookings and margin.
  • Proficient in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Familiarity with WordPress or other CMS platforms.
  • Strong supplier negotiation and relationship-management abilities.

Mansioni

  • Audit existing categories and identify missing products.
  • Grow the portfolio strategically by selecting products based on customer demand, market gaps, and commercial potential.
  • Build relationships with local suppliers and negotiate pricing and terms.
  • Improve product performance by reviewing content, imagery, positioning, reviews, availability, pricing, and customer experience.
  • Identify exclusive, differentiated, or high-converting experiences that support business goals.
  • Benchmark products and pricing against direct competitors and OTAs.
  • Manage product listings in our CMS, ensuring pricing, logic, availability, content, and visuals are accurate.
  • Own the backend setup and QA of experiences for launch readiness.
  • Ensure every newly published product reaches a minimum of 100 product-page views per month.
  • Collaborate across CX, marketing, merchandising, and operations to ensure smooth launches and strong product performance.
  • Track regional tourism trends and translate them into specific product opportunities.

This is a 6-month fixed-term position with possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

Work Location: In-office work - Rome

The Candidate: A curious, commercially minded professional with a few years of e-commerce experience and a strong interest in tourism.

You naturally ask why a product is, or is not, selling and look beyond price for the answer. You understand how visibility, positioning, content, reviews, availability, and customer experience influence performance. You are comfortable working with e-commerce metrics such as product views, conversion rate (CVR), add-to-cart rate (ATC), bookings, and margin. You do not need to be an advanced data analyst, but you understand what these numbers mean, why they matter, and how to use them to make better decisions.

Desired Experience (Skills):
  • 2 years working in e-commerce, category management, merchandising, product management, or digital marketing
  • 2 years working in tourism, hospitality, or local travel services
  • Experience analyzing and improving the performance of online products
  • Experience working with CMS platforms such as TourCMS, Bokun, or WordPress

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Development & Optimization of Experiences:

  • Audit existing categories and identify missing products, overlaps, and underperformers
  • Grow the portfolio strategically by selecting products based on customer demand, market gaps, and commercial potential
  • Build relationships with local suppliers and negotiate competitive pricing and terms
  • Improve product performance by reviewing content, imagery, positioning, reviews, availability, pricing, and customer experience
  • Identify exclusive, differentiated, or high-converting experiences that support business goals
  • Benchmark products and pricing against direct competitors and OTAs

Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Manage product listings in our CMS, ensuring pricing, logic, availability, content, and visuals are accurate
  • Own the backend setup and QA of experiences for launch readiness
  • Ensure every newly published product reaches a minimum of 100 product-page views per month
  • Work with merchandising and marketing to increase product visibility across category pages, search results, campaigns, content, cross-selling placements, and other relevant channels
  • Monitor views, CVR, ATC, bookings, reviews, cancellations, and margin to identify performance issues
  • Proactively test improvements and elevate products that continue to underperform

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Use booking data, customer behavior, reviews, competitor research, and market trends to guide category decisions
  • Determine which products are ready for additional marketing or paid advertising support
  • Build category growth plans that define what products should be added, improved, promoted, or removed
  • Collaborate across CX, marketing, merchandising, and operations to ensure smooth launches and strong product performance
  • Track regional tourism trends and translate them into specific product opportunities
What we offer:
  • 6-month fixed-term contract
  • Salary Range: RAL €23,000 - €30,000
  • Meal vouchers (€7 per day) in accordance with internal company policy
