Job summary

Quince is seeking a Cashmere Engineer Specialist to oversee dehaired cashmere fiber quality, define Grade A standards, and audit suppliers. You will inspect fiber lots, drive improvements, and manage the material library with test results and reference standards.

You will collaborate with Sourcing, Production, and QA teams to ensure high-quality yarns and traceable materials across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Textile Engineering, Material Science, or related field.
• Deep experience evaluating dehaired cashmere fiber and finished cashmere yarns.
• Strong understanding of Grade A cashmere specs and enforcing them.
• Ability to trace quality failures to fiber quality or spinning processes.
• Experience with fiber and yarn testing methods (OFDA, micrograph, tensile, evenness).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality of dehaired cashmere fiber entering the supply chain.
• Define Grade A standards and audit suppliers to ensure consistency.
• Inspect and approve incoming dehaired fiber lots; flag non-conforming material.
• Maintain the material library with reference standards and results.
• Coordinate with internal/external labs for fiber and yarn testing; document results.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure traceability from raw material to finished yarn.
